The Adventures of the King Street Girls and Boys Club

At the pond Carlos was tossing rocks into the water while Amelia just stared across the pond. Amelia, "are you having fun now?" Carlos, "no, we gotta find something to do."

Lin suggested they have a parade. DeMarco heard a farmer named Mr. Smith might have an elephant they could use so he went to see him. Upon seeing the pig, DeMarco, "that's not an elephant." All Mr. Smith could do was to shrug his shoulders.
The kids gather at the Clubhouse and realize they have all they need. Stilts, a bike, drums, unicycle, Spots, and even a clown.

Book One - Let's Parade!
tells the story of Lin, Omar, Amelia, Sofia, Carlos, DeMarco and all the kids in the King Street Club who get more bored than bored one summer and decide to have a parade.
​
After asking the town's people for help, they explore their own talents. Even Spots their clubhouse dog is a player and a curious mouse who really doesn't know what's going on. In the end the parade goes round and round and then up the hill and out of town.

Fun times take center stage while deeper discoveries like respect, shared goals, and values develop almost without warning.
​

A new member joins the Club in Book Two and the kids set out on a Camping Trip in Book Three.
​

Kindly Mr. Jones on Ghandi Street likes all the kids and told them to put up as many signs as they wanted. Carlos swung a big hammer and put a sign in the yard.

All the town's people turned out for the parade. After all who doesn't love a parade?
The parade went round and round
and up the hill and out of town.
It's hard to stop when you are having so much fun!
